Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen within the Major Projects division for a Senior Engineer to work on the North West Electrification Project between Blackpool and Preston. The role will be based in the site office in Lytham.

The main duties will include but are not limited to:-

• Responsible for managing a team of junior engineering staff who will provide technical assistance to the production teams
• Mentor and assist junior engineers in the accurate setting out of data provided.
• Checking he integrity of the data either by practical or theoretical means
• Cross reference the setting out data
• Supervision of assembly process
• Produce a plan of the works to be carried out by the engineering staff
• Check site measurement for QS purposes
• Recording data for record and Quality Assurance purposes
• Alerting Senior Management/QA Manager to any non-conformance or deficiency in quality, materials or services.
• Produce and maintain up to date engineering procedures

Job Requirements

You will be self-motivated with a pro-active approach and have experience of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.  Problem solving, communication and good interpersonal skills are a key requirement for this role. The candidate will also ideally have the following Experience/skill set:-

• Engineering Degreee,
• Chartered Status
• At least 5 years experience of a similar role in the Rail/Construction industry
• ICT literacy including Microsoft Office package
• Full Driving licence
