Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Resource & Logistics Coordinator to join VolkerRail’s Plant Department working in Scunthorpe.
Key duties will include:
- Collation of roster information to provide reports to the Resource & Logistics and Operation Managers.
- Weekly, monthly, annual (YTD) analysis of the order book to show cross hire plant utilisation to assist with potential investment cases.
- With support from the Resource & Logistics Manager hold fortnightly meetings with all Operations Manager to review data and ensure accuracy is maintained.
- Weekly compilation of all plant and weld haulage costs by asset/haulage company to allow analysis of cost v’s invoiced/applied values. Liaise with operational and commercial staff to ensure all costs are captured in real time.
- Set up and Maintain fatigue calculators for high risk staff
- Responsible for ensuring the rostering of resource requirements in accordance with terms and conditions of employment, including stipulated timescales to ensure contractual requirements (work programme) are delivered.
- Responsible for ensuring that the staff rosters are developed in accordance with the relevant HSQE policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Responsible for managing the allocation of hours and weekend shifts ensuring correct utilisation of available resource.
- Responsible for the inputting of all training, annual leave and sickness shifts/hours into the relevant business systems.
- Establish and maintain robust communication between Logistics & Resources Manager, Business Managers, Engineering Managers and Operations Manager
- Develop and maintain the rostering database to ensure information is available, including the production of internal reports.
- Attend training courses identified by VolkerRail to help with undertaking role or delivery of new systems.
- Undertake other reasonable duties as required.
- Provide other administrative support as delegated by the Resource Manager.
Job Requirements
You will be self-motivated with a pro-active approach and have experience of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines. Problem solving, communication and good interpersonal skills are a key requirement for this role. The candidate will also ideally have the following experience/skill set:
- Previous experience in a similar role is a requirement.
- Proficient in MS office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- A minimum of 3 GCSE’s grade A-C including English and Maths.
- Flexible/proactive – can do attitude who shows initiative to support others.
- Knowledge of all rostering arrangements.
- Able to work as part of a team with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work in constantly changing environment and to tight deadlines.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage work to meet varying deadlines.
